I had that problem when I tried to install Quake on a 64bit OS. The only way I could get it to work right was to copy my Quake folder from my old OS and put it on my desktop of my new OS and run it from that folder. Nice work ODEN. Well 5oul, I don't know what to tell you about your config. I can get Q3 to run on my win7 64bit computer but some of the settings work and some don't. It seems that the config file doesn't want to update changes that are made. It's odd to me what is happening. What I did was I copied my old Q3 fold...

There's two configs. One in the Q3a folder and one in the excessive folder.

Make sure they aren't 'Read Only'. To verify this right click on the config
file and then left click on 'properties'. make sure the 'Read Only' option is
not checked. If it is then uncheck it and click apply.

You have to do your setup and then run the game. All that info will appear.

Interesting. Are you using a 680?

According to the article I should see improvements even with my 560.

yup, that's the type of sites that came up before ESET starting blocking it.
