What do you think of this

The dot pitch, response rate, and other things seem to be ok.

I'm also trying to decide whether widescreen would be better. The thing is the dot pitch and response time are very important.

lol, was your other rifle getting lonely?
As far as the monitors go, CRT's are always better because of the refresh rates for gaming. The downside to them is they're so big and heavy once you go over a 19 inch. The LCD can be forced to 75mhz refresh at the higher resolutions but I'm not so sure that's as important as the response timing since LCD pixels don't actually 'refresh', until they're called upon to change color where as CRT's are scanning (refreshing) the screen constantly.
I went ahead and bought the one I linked to above. I like it. It has a little ripple in it once in awhile when the action gets heavy but over all it looks as good as Robbies 19" CRT. Besides, I'm not playing anything fast and furious like Q3x anymore anyway. I'm convinced now more than ever CoD2 just looks and plays crappy no matter what monitor you use. My FEAR looks way better. I haven't played DOOM, Q4, or Half Life with it yet.
I did find out though that the low response times indicated for most LCD monitors, including the one above, is measured from gray to gray (GTG) instead of from black to white and back again. It's misleading if the store or manufacturer don't tell you this. I found a couple sites that talk about the GTG and how important it is more so than the BWB timing. I'm trying to decide if it's a matter of opinion or not.
Regardless of that, I like my new LCD, 20.1 inch, 5ms, .255 dot pitch, monitor. There's a 2ms 17" I might pick up today just for the heck of it.
I didn't mean to turn this into a review. OH, and make sure you use a digital cable. It makes all the difference.

The M4-2000 is a physically small, light-weight, fast-attach silencer

I have one of those too. When the 8ms monitors came out that one was the one to get. The new one I have now has a faster response time and better dot pitch which makes games almost look like your playing on a CRT. I was playing FEAR last night and Robbie saw the graphics and was impressed.

Oh yeah. I replaced my 6800GT with a 7800GS last night along with bumping my ram up to two gigs. Man what a difference that makes too. Fifty plus frames with all the goodies turned on.
I'm a happy camper.

You guys do realize that all response times are white to white not gray to gray. You wont find the gray to gray specs on most because although the white may be 5ms the grays are still usually well above 20 if not higher.
Food for thought.
BTW Wain nice upgrade, great to see you back at your computer.

I agonized some over the response stuff. I read at the tech sites that response times are usually black to white and back again. I went to Samsungs site. They claim the response timing on the one I bought was gray to gray. I did alot of reading the past couple weeks over this timing thing. And you're right, the BWB may be slower, but a couple tech sites detailed why the GTG was important.
In any case, mine looks and plays great. No complaints. And yeah, it feels good to get back to the machines. Takes my mind off other things.
