Rage update 2

Here's a fun fact for ya. Last night Final*Hit and I are playing Rage. I got
tired and stopped to give my hands a rest so I watched Final play. (He's
still got skills by the way). Funny thing I noticed. While his game runs
smooth as silk, mine still gets a small ripple in the graphics now and
then. I sat and pondered this oddity and then it hit me. He's still using an
old 19" CRT monitor that he refuses to give up. I'm using a 20" 8ms LCD.

I told you all that for you to think about this. What if the difference in the
way the game runs has to do with the analog connection to his monitor as
opposed to the digital connection to mine? hmmmm??

Before all you techies tell me how much better digital is to analog, I
already know that. I've also seen weirder things than this in the gaming
world.

OR MAYBE. I should get a faster monitor. Lets say an LED or a small plasma tv. I'm going shopping

I've been experimenting. No ODEN, not that. I turned texture cache to
high and vsync on. It seems to have cured my screen rippling
Been playing this way for a couple hours now.

Nice monitor. Problem is I'd have to mount it on the wall and back up about four feet to see it properly
