Re: DVD software
I put a DVD movie in the DVD Rom, it tried to install InterVideo 2.0 which is an old version of WinDVD, couldn't play the movie, errors, crash, need I go on?[MgA]RockCrusher wrote:TiMeX...just about every DVD has free software on it, and it works.[MgA]TiMeX wrote:Anyone have any free distributed DVD player software?

WinDVD5 works very well. Trouble is it's 70 bucks to buy it and the trial period is 14 days.
Granted, I'm not going to sit in front of my computer to watch movies. That's why I have a TV. It's just nice to know you can do it with your PC.

My guess is the 100 plus meg zip you sent me. I sent you an email with a question about that. In the directory are two folders, one is 2ch the other is 5.1ch. Both of them about the same size and comparable content. Should I assume the 5.1 is the newer version and use it?[MgA]ODEN wrote:Did ya try Ver 4?

Re: DVD software
Hmmmm...the InterVideo on my DVD's is at least V2.2. I've tried PowerDVD XP 4.0 which isn't half bad (came with my DVD burner).[MgA]TiMeX wrote:I put a DVD movie in the DVD Rom, it tried to install InterVideo 2.0 which is an old version of WinDVD, couldn't play the movie, errors, crash, need I go on?

Just for the record, ATI DVD software is free and is the best IMHO, so buy a Radeon 9800 XT 256 MB card and you'll get the best...

Re: DVD software
I bought mine locally OEM. No frills, no box, no software. That's why I need something. Apparently a bug must have been fixed between 2.0 and 2.2. I'm good though, Oden and AgENT have fixed me up[MgA]RockCrusher wrote:Hmmmm...the InterVideo on my DVD's is at least V2.2. Re: DVD software
I can get you real cheap, practically free 'cause it's $10 CDN, a legit copy of WinDVD XP 4.X from my local computer store. Glad you got something from Agent and Oden. Let me know if you need anything more...[MgA]TiMeX wrote:I bought mine locally OEM. No frills, no box, no software. That's why I need something.
