A security company is saying that a source-code audit of the open-source operating system Darwin, from which Apple Computer borrowed much of the code for Mac OS X, revealed four vulnerabilities of varying severity in OS X. Apparently these flaws were found 7 months ago but Apple had no clue until Monday when the flaws were announced. Ouch.

The company originally found the flaws in June and published them to a private list of customers but did not notify Apple. It published the flaws on Monday, after presenting them at a seminar.

So much for the perceived security of a MAC.... Even Linux and Unix are not immune to security holes.

I seem to remember that Z had a massive virus infection a while back... ;)
